By downloading, installing, or using VDL Desktop ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Application.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the Application after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified terms.

VDL Desktop is free software. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may NOT:

• Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
• Redistribute, sell, rent, or lease the Application
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
• Use the Application for any illegal purpose
• Use the Application to infringe on others' intellectual property rights

VDL Desktop is intended for downloading videos for personal, offline viewing only. You agree to use the Application responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws.

You agree NOT to:

• Download copyrighted content without proper authorization
• Redistribute downloaded content without permission from the copyright holder
• Use downloaded content for commercial purposes without authorization
• Violate the terms of service of any platform (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, etc.)
• Download content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights

You are solely responsible for your use of the Application and any content you download. You acknowledge that:

• Downloading copyrighted material without permission may be illegal
• You must respect the intellectual property rights of content creators
• You must comply with the terms of service of third-party platforms
• You are responsible for any legal consequences of your actions

VDL Desktop respects your privacy:

• No account required to use the Application
• No personal data is collected or transmitted
• No tracking or analytics are implemented
• All downloads are processed locally on your device
• No advertisements are displayed

The Application may connect to the internet solely to fetch video metadata and download content from third-party platforms.

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

We make no guarantees regarding:

• Compatibility with all videos or platforms
• Continuous availability of the Application
• The accuracy of video metadata or quality options

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MDV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION.

These terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any provision. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Application and delete all copies.

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
